MASkargo and MAG Join Forces with NCSM to Combat Cervical Cancer in Borneo

MASkargo and MAG participated in the “Leaving No One Behind – HPV Vaccines Program @ Borneo” in collaboration with the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM). NCSM is a charitable organization that has been providing education, treatment, and support services for cancer patients and the public for over five decades. The society operates under the patronage of His Royal Highness Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah, the Sultan of Perak.

NCSM recently received a generous donation of 300,000 doses of HPV vaccines, valued at RM 90 million. This contribution aims to support the Malaysian Government, particularly the Ministry of Health, in vaccinating adolescent girls and women from underprivileged, marginalized, and remote communities. This initiative seeks to curb cervical cancer and provide a robust defence against the dangerous threat of Human Papillomavirus (HPV).

The Deputy Premier of Sarawak, YB Datuk Amar Dr. Sim Kui Hian, launched the event in Bintulu on July 22, 2024. Over 1,400 individuals in Sarawak received the HPV vaccine during the event. The program aims to distribute more than 50,000 vaccines to the people of Sarawak from July to December 2024. Datuk Amar Dr. Sim praised all partners for their support in ensuring the success of the program and urged everyone to seize the opportunity to get vaccinated and protect themselves from HPV.

MASkargo, in collaboration with MAG, is proud to serve as the official cargo partner for transporting vaccines to Sabah and Sarawak, ensuring that residents in these regions receive their HPV vaccinations. In total, we will be transporting more than 80,000 bottles to over ten destinations in Sabah and Sarawak, including Tawau, Sandakan, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Miri, and Bintulu. Meanwhile, MASkargo Logistics Sdn Bhd (MLSB) is providing direct assistance to NCSM with logistics and on-ground handling, ensuring that the vaccines are transported safely and managed to the highest standards.
